Ingredients
- 1kg hard pears
- 120g sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 glasses red wine
- 1 glass of water
- vanilla ice cream to serve
- almond biscuit (like amaretto biscuits to serve)
Directions
- Peel the pears but leave the stems on.
- After washing, put the pears in a casserole dish with water, sugar and cinnamon. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
- Add two glasses of wine and cook for extra 15 minutes. Remove the pears and keep cooking the wine until it gets syrupy.
- Serve the pears with wine syrup and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can sprinkle some almond biscuits on top.
