Farmer Jack's butcher Tom swept the board at last week's Isle of Wight Sausage Competition with his pork, garlic and herb sausages.  Tom says "The secret is getting the right balance of lean meat, and I try to stick to using seasonal herbs and Island garlic."   You can buy Tom's award-winning bangers in the Farm Shop.

Winners of the alternative sausage were Todd and Jackie Carder from Mottistone Farm Shop with their autumn beef sausages.   There were 37 entries in total, judged blind by IW Hospice fundraising manager Karen Eales,   IW County Press' David Newble and Martin Parsons.  Other winners were Paul Whitewood, Kings Manor Farm, IW Biltong and Gemma Hendricks from Farmer Jacks, with her rabbit and pork sausages.
